Kristi's story:
What I find unique about Barbara Maimone is her holistic approach to teaching you how to attain total fitness. She is motivating, encouraging and is a dedicated fitness guru with exceptional knowledge in nutrition, weight training and cardio-vascular fitness.
After my first child I had a really hard time losing the near 40lbs I had gained, which showed everywhere on my petite 5 foot frame. Everyone re-assured me that it took nine months to gain the weight so it could take nine to lose it. Yet, after a year, I was still wearing the ‘post partum collection’. I was mortified; I had never felt so ugly in all my life. And despite training for ½ marathons and going to the gym regularly I could not reach my goals.
Still carrying extra weight, I became pregnant with our second child. Again, despite my efforts to watch my weight, I gained close to 40lbs. This time I was resolved to shed the weight and as soon as I got the 6-week postpartum clearance, I turned to Barb for help. She trained me one-on-one for 8 weeks and then I participated in her 6-week Spring Boot Camp.
With Barb’s direction, I lost all of the baby weight by the six month doctor appointment. And by nine months I had reached my goals! She shared invaluable eating and nutrition tips, taught me important mechanics about weight lifting that you do not get from any magazine (trust me, I’ve read them all) and encouraged me to push myself to limits that I didn’t even know I was capable of.
She has made me stronger, skinnier and more energized. I feel great about myself and because of her direction I now know how to make better choices both in terms of my work-outs and my meals.

Kim's Story (Partner Training and Coaching):
I am a 36 year old Mom of two children. My friend and I started working out with Barb as a team in March 2007, we met twice a week and worked on strength and interval training. Barb really taught us how to eat well, the proper ways to strength/interval train and techniques that we could take to our own gyms or homes. I loved all the different fitness techniques that we learned, it kept me interested and excited to come back the next time.
I have lost 20 pounds and feel like a new person. My physical changes have been great but my mental changes are just as important. I feel good when I wake up, I have learned how to eat but still enjoy the foods I love in moderation. This has been life changing, not a diet but a way of living for me. For once, I feel in control of my body! Barb was so much fun to work out with, she is up to date on the latest fitness techniques, she will personalize a plan for you and your body and help you reach the goal you have in mind. I can not say enough wonderful things about Barb, she changed my life for the better and I will continue to work with her in the future to maintain progress throughout my life.
I want to tell you that this is my first New Year's in a long time that I did not have to make a resolution to get into shape and lose weight! You have no idea how wonderful that feels and I owe Barb so much gratitude for making it fun and educating me about my body! I am such a happier person and I love shopping for clothes! I lost another pound over Christmas so I was so happy!
We went skiing and I have never felt better on the slopes, it was amazing how much better I was at everything 20 pounds lighter! I just can not say enough wonderful things! I thank you, Barb, from the bottom of my heart. This has gotten me through some pretty hard times and I am so thankful to have met you and worked with you! I wish you all the best in 2008!

Danielle's Story (Partner Training):
I would highly recommend Barb to be your personal trainer. I used Barb for several months starting in March 2007 to lose weight after having a baby. Not only did I get back to my normal weight, she educated me on nutrition and weight training. She truly changed my mindset on how to get and stay fit. Barb is very energetic and very passionate about helping others get fit. She does a great job getting you excited about the process and motivated to stay with it. Barb's biggest asset is her knowledge on fitness and nutrition. I would definitely use her again and miss our training sessions very much!!

Christy's Story (Partner and Small Group Training):
I have been a workout enthusiast my entire life. As I got older I realized that my routine wasn’t producing the same effect as in earlier years. I was typically walking 2-3 times a week for 5 miles at a time. I was doing the stairmaster at the gym 2-3 times a week for 45 minutes and playing a lot of singles tennis. What I didn’t realize is although this was good for cardio, my body had adapted to those techniques. A friend of mine had been going to Barb and looked fabulous. She had lost almost 20 pounds and decreased her body fat. I immediately asked for Barb’s number. Of course, at first you can think of a million excuses why it doesn’t fit into your busy schedule. I am a mother of 2 teenagers, I run 2 businesses and volunteer at the school and church.
When I contacted Barb she asked me what I had been doing for exercise and explained to me that the cardio would only burn calories during that specific activity and that if I were to increase my muscle mass (which is why men can lose weight so quickly) that I could burn calories even while sitting down and watching TV. Well that sounded great to me. She also explained that you need to incorporate the proper nutrition as well. It turned out I wasn’t eating enough calories during the day. Once I changed my eating habits and started building muscle, I was so happy with the results. I have lost 16 pounds and decreased my body fat by 9%. I am also never hungry because I learned how to eat smaller portions and eat more frequently. I was one of those people that would yo-yo diet and go up or down sizes throughout the years. I can tell you I am now a very happy size 6 and don’t plan on ever going back. I really look forward to Barb’s classes and find that I am actually a more productive person and have so much more energy than before. My teenage daughters told me I look younger and they are amazed that I can actually fit into some of their things even though they think I am too old to be cool. What do they know?

Nikki's Story (Fit Camp Participant):
I have never felt so empowered as when I finished each session. The endorphins were definitely flowing. It was like a high I'd always heard my friends who exercised describe to me. I had done other types of exercise in the past - treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical, various
aerobic classes - yet nothing had ever given me that special feeling. I've been off the program for a month and I am miserable. I can't wait to start again. I love the group atmosphere and the structure of each class. I never got bored because we never did the thing twice. And, yes, my clothes are fitting better, I am eating much healthier, and I have more energy. It's amazing how these things work just like we are told they will work IF WE WOULD JUST DO THEM!
Group was really fun. Girls were motivated and motivating. It was nice that we were all shapes and sizes.

Natasha's Story (Outdoor Fit Camp Participant):
(I liked) everything about the Bikini Fit Camp. It was so dynamic and effective and fun.
After 6 weeks of the camp, I feel so much better. I lost 4 pounds and am managing to keep them off. :-) I eat healthier now and my clothes fit so much better, some of my pre-pregnancy clothes are actually too loose now (my twins are 2 years old).
I would recommend it (Bikini FitCamp) to anyone!

Love the weight training (I have exercised my whole life but not done weights before).
Barb is awesome ... very knowledgeable, helpful and high energy. I love it! I'm learning a lot about how different types of exercise work on the body, great nutritional info ... great changes for a lifetime come from this experience. I would absolutely recommend the indoor boot camps to everybody.

A Note from Samantha (Fit Camp and One on One Coaching) to Barb:
In the boot camp, Barb pushed us to try higher weights, do more than we expected of ourselves. I also liked the group comradiere (sp?). I learned that weights are important/have an impact on your body - it isn't all about cardio. Barb is fantastic at coaching people....I say coaching b/c she encourages us, but at the same time are so knowledgable about the body and what it takes to succeed with fitness that when you share this information, it pushes us to want to do more. I would definitely recommend Barb to others!

The high energy leaders made the experience lots of fun. It was also educational as well as action-based, so I learned about building muscle to burn fat, etc. I lost a few pounds and became stronger during the 6 week camp.
